An Armor Plate is designed to protect the transducer from side to side as well as front and back impact. The Armor Plate takes the place of the factory transom mounting bracket.  If the Armor Plate is installed anywhere other than on the transom, for example on the set back wall, some shimming may be required if the angle needs to be adjusted.  Warning: We do not recommend the Spring Back Bracket and Armor Plate on the set back wall.  It could reduce the flow of water to the engine.

An Armor Plate is also designed to attach to our Spring Back Bracket # SBB-5 for all around transducer protection.   If an Armor Plate breaks, which has been attached to the boat without a Spring Back Bracket, it has no warranty whatsoever

We’ve modified our popular TM-HDsi Transducer Shield® and added a beefy anchor kit to make it work with our Spring Back™ Bracket.  The stainless-steel double-torsion spring will return the transducer to its original position once force is released.  To ensure good water flow to the transducer, we’ve added a larger splash plate to the Spring Back Bracket®.  The Anchor Kit is preset for transom installation and has a 5º angle adjustment range if needed.  Simply attach the Humminbird® Side Image transducer # XHS 9 HDSI 180 T to the shield and install the assembly onto the transom.  Stainless steel hardware and Do-It Yourself instructions are included.
